Albanese continues class war, ignores Coalition mandate

Anthony Albanese: “We can pass tax cuts in one hour”

Anthony Albanese has offered to get his Labor MPs to Canberra “for one hour” to pass the first round of Scott Morrison’s tax cuts, but still won’t commit to passing the government’s whole tax package.

The Opposition Leader today said the parliament could reconvene this month to pass the first round of cuts and that they could be passed in a day.

“We will consider the second and third elements of that package on their own merit”.

The government has refused to split their tax bill — the keystone of its budget and election economic agenda — and Mr Albanese said he would “consider” parts two and three of the plan.
