Ms Batty and the [Victorian] Minister for Women Gabrielle Williams said the state’s spending of $2.7 billion in prevention and detection was setting an example to the world but that the Commonwealth was lagging behind.

“Everywhere I go, people are looking at what we do here in Victoria with a government that has invested a realistic amount of money … so change can really happen”

“I just wish that we had the same commitment from our national government and I believe that maybe if we do have a Labor government we will start to see that sort of commitment”.
